Love & Hope: lansing christian school 2023 Spiritual Theme

Lansing Christian School was founded by parents in 1951. The school’s founding verse is “That they might set their Hope in God.” This is what we are aiming for in our parent-school partnership – that our students would set their ultimate Hope in God. As Christians, we know where our hope is found. As parents and educators, we want to be the people of hope that our children need. This year our spiritual theme is Rooted in Love. Rooted in Hope.

What does hope look like?

Hope is the confidence or assurance in a positive outcome in our lives and our world. Our whole life belongs to God – including our learning and education. Hope is alive when students learn that in Jesus Christ all things hold together and are for His Glory.

What does it mean to be people of hope?

The Bible tells us that God is with us and that nothing can ever separate us from the love of Christ. When we communicate these truths to our children through our words and actions, we are people of hope.

Lansing Christian School is led by excellent Christian teachers who lead with their faith, build meaningful relationships with students, and teach with passion and expertise. Our educators are dedicated to being people of hope for our students.

Modeling Hope

Christian education is about investing in the people our children will become. The way our children learn values best is through the modeling of adults in their lives. One of our greatest opportunities as both parents and educators is to model by example how to be people that are clothed with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, and love. Colossians 3:12-14 talks about how we, as God’s people, are to clothe ourselves.

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with one another and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

Family Uniform

Here at Lansing Christian School, while we don’t have physical uniforms, we do have a spiritual uniform that God calls each of us to dress in each day. Compassion. Kindness. Humility. Gentleness. Patience. Bearing. Forgiveness. All tied together with the perfect and final accessory: LOVE.

Rooted in Love. Rooted in Hope. At Lansing Christian School, this is our focus and prayer for the 2023 school year.
