Athletics Reopen at LCS

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.

Until now, our incredible team of basketball coaches and student athletes at Lansing Christian School have been unable to compete in games. They have been unable to engage in a practice format or drills that include contact with one another. They had to maintain physical spacing from their teammates. Our coaches and student athletes were uncertain what their season would look like. Do not depend on your own understanding.

Despite the uncertainty, our campus has been alive with activity well into the evening hours! Our coaches have continued to lead and guide their programs. They motivate and encourage their athletes. They plan for the future of their season, regardless.

Our student athletes have continued to develop their skills, to use their sport as a vehicle to display their God-given talents. While enduring the uncertainty of their season, students have been growing, engaging socially with one another, and maintaining good health and positivity.

We lean on God to show us which path to take and there are many times the path is unclear. It is during these times, especially that we look to Him for direction, His desired movement, and the action we should take. While participation in athletics teaches so many valuable lessons, like respect, dedication, and teamwork, this lesson is much larger.

Per the MDHHS updated emergency order, that began on Monday, February 8, the basketball programs are able to move forward with full practices and games to follow. We are thankful for this opportunity and we look forward to seeing what the season will hold!

New this year, basketball games will be live-streamed. Click here and search Lansing Christian High School – Lansing, MI to watch the live-stream.
