How to Prepare for Meet the Teacher
Cultivating community is a core value of LCS, and we are eager to see you on campus. Our Meet the Teacher event is August 14 from 4:00 – 6:00pm and is a wonderful way for students to get to know their teachers and classmates, explore the classroom, and bring in supplies for their desks and lockers.
August 19
What to Expect On Your First Day
We’re excited to welcome you! School starts at 8:00 a.m., with drop-off beginning at 7:45 a.m. for elementary students, who head straight to their classrooms, and at 7:30 a.m. for middle and high school students, who can wait in the commons or their hallway until the 7:55 a.m. bell. School ends at 3:00 p.m., and parents can either pick up in the carpool lane or park and come inside for pickup.
As a long-standing tradition at LCS, parents are invited to join the K-12 student body in a brief time of praise and worship and a whole school community prayer. This is a wonderful time of welcoming students and parents back to school. The chapel is scheduled from 8:15-8:45 a.m. and will take place in the gym.

Retreat Ready: Tips for Parents and Students
At Lansing Christian, we use the annual Fall Retreat as an opportunity to build relationships with students and teachers and lay the groundwork for student faith development throughout the year.
Middle and High School Retreat
It is a valued tradition at LCS for middle and high school students to participate in an annual Fall Retreat. See some of the fun activities your student will experience during this time.
Fund Run
Once a year, students in PreK 4 through fifth grade participate in a fundraiser by running and walking through the school’s outdoor learning campus and trails. Along the way, they complete age-appropriate obstacles and challenges.
The Fund Run is more than just a fundraiser for LCS. It supports our mission to provide a Christ-centered education that prepares our students to live out their faith in all aspects of life. Every gift makes a difference and serves as a lifelong investment in our students.

Spirit Week/Homecoming
Spirit Week and Homecoming
Spirit Week is a time to celebrate Lansing Christian School and the many talents of our students. During the week of February 10-14, students will participate in a number of unique and creative activities that encourage them to work together as a class. In addition to these activities, students will demonstrate their understanding of our spiritual theme Good Soil, Good Fruit through creating projects, including artwork, video production, battle of the bands, and creating a space.
Spirit Week
The week will culminate with an assembly that will include student performances in “Battle of the Bands” and the showing of class video productions. That evening, February 14, we will host our Homecoming basketball games and Homecoming court introductions.
