STRATFORD FESTIVAL, September 27, 2024

For years, the LCS English Department has taken a yearly trip to Stratford, Ontario, Canada to see a Shakespearean play at the Shakespeare Festival. The cost of the trip will be $100. This price includes a ticket to the play and charter bus transportation. Be on the lookout in the fall for more information on securing a spot on the trip, identification documents for border crossing, play information, and more.

SENIOR TRIP –  WASHINGTON DC, MAY 16-20, 2025

Once again, the seniors will have the opportunity to travel to Washington, DC in May before they graduate. Washington, DC is an excellent location for a school trip as it provides opportunities for many areas of interest including government, history, art, biology, sports, culture, etc. Because much of what we do on the trip is centrally located and has free admission, we are able to do a lot while also keeping the cost of the trip down. This is also a trip that LCS knows well and has done successfully in the past, and we are confident that this year’s Senior Trip will be another great experience for our students.

The details of the trip are still being worked out, but here are some of the things we are hoping to do either as a whole group or as small group options:

  • Tour the Capitol
  • White House
  • The Holocaust Museum
  • A night tour of the monuments in Washington including Lincoln, FDR, WWII, Vietnam Memorials
  • The Smithsonian Museums
  • A major league baseball game
  • The National Archives
  • Arlington National Cemetery and Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
  • Washington Monument
  • National Zoo

This four day trip is part of the U.S. History curriculum and includes all junior students. A few highlights of this trip include: exploring the battlefield and museum in Gettysburg, Harper’s Ferry, and the site of the pivotal battle of Antietam, Maryland.

8TH GRADE TRIP – THE ARK ENCOUNTER & CINCINNATI ZOO, JUNE 4-5, 2025

This is a great opportunity for the 8th graders to spend their last days of middle school learning about Noah’s Ark and enjoying time visiting the Cincinnati Zoo. We will travel to Cincinnati, Ohio where we will cross the Ohio River and spend time at the Ark Encounter in Williamstown, Kentucky. The following day we will visit the Cincinnati Zoo before returning home.

Approximate student cost: $225.00
