United in Christ: The Beauty of Christian Community at LCS
One of the most meaningful traditions at Lansing Christian School is the community-wide chapel held on the first day of school. Each year, students, families, faculty, and staff gather to begin the school year by acknowledging God’s faithfulness, praying for His guidance, and committing the year ahead to Him. It’s a powerful moment that reflects the heart of LCS—a Christ-centered community rooted in faith.

Over time, what stands out most to many in the LCS community is not just the traditions, but the people who make up this vibrant school family. Families come from a variety of churches and backgrounds, yet they are united by a shared love for Jesus and a deep desire to raise the next generation to know, love, and serve Him. Together, they are building a school culture where faith is woven into every part of the educational experience—from the classroom to the playground, from the stage to the athletic field.
What holds a diverse community like LCS together? First, it is a shared commitment to the foundational principles of the Christian faith, clearly expressed in the school’s faith and belief statements. But just as important is the way these beliefs are lived out daily—by seeing and honoring the image of God in every student, teacher, and family member. This perspective shapes relationships, guides conversations, and strengthens the sense of belonging across the school.
LCS has remained steadfast in its mission to educate students to put their hope in God. It is within this intentional Christian community that students not only grow academically, but also spiritually and relationally. The school’s vision—to equip young men and women to engage and transform the world for Jesus Christ—is lived out through a commitment to faith, learning, and community.

As Lansing Christian School looks to the future, it continues to build on a legacy of faithfulness to God and dedication to living and learning together. It is this unity in Christ that allows a diverse group of believers to grow stronger together—many backgrounds, one foundation.
